Come on, let’s have some fun!  It’s all about Jesus’ love!”  These words of a favorite Bible School song echo the theme for the Children’s Ministry of First Baptist.  It is fun, and it is all about Jesus’ love.  We want our kids to build a Biblical foundation on which to grow and to witness to their peers while learning and experiencing the fun we can share together through God’s love. 

On Sunday mornings we have Sunday School classes for all children birth – 5^th grade. 

On Wednesday evenings during the school year, we have children’s programs for children ages 3 – 5^th grade. 

Wednesday Activities:
* Beginning at 5:15, the younger children have recreation, while the older children can choose between Handchimes or Puppetry. Children interested in handchimes may begin in 1st grade, and children interested in puppets may begin in 2nd grade. 

* At 5:45 our families join together for the Fellowship Meal before the children have Choir at 6:00.  We have a Preschool choir for our 3, 4, and 5 year old children, a younger children’s choir for our K-1^st graders, and an older children’s choir for our 2^nd -  5^th grades. 

* At 6:30, we have Awana on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday nights and Mission Friends, RA’s, and GA’s on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday nights. Please refer to the calendar for activities on the 5th Wednesday nights.

Awana is an international, Bible-centered children's ministry. It is an exciting and fun program that teaches the gospel through scripture memorization. Kids can know, love and serve Christ through their participation every 2nd and 4th Wednesday night.

At First Baptist, Awana consists of three groups - Cubbies (3 - 5 year olds), Sparks (K - 2nd grade), and T&Ts (Truth & Training for 3rd - 5th grade). Each group has their own handbooks which they take home to study with their parents. As they memorize scripture, they earn stickers, patches, and more prizes. It's lots of fun! Come join us and see!

=Cubbies

Kids ages 3 -5 love to learn through Cubbie games, puppets, crafts, awards, and other activities. Friendly characters such as Cubbie Bear, Luv E. Lamb, Ern E. Elephant, Zip E. Zebra, and Gigi Giraffe provide thrilling adventures in every lesson to teach preschoolers the Bible. Parents are encouraged to spiritually nurture the children through working on the handbook lessons at home. In just one of the Cubbie handbooks, children can learn about 55 memory verses. The gospel message is presented in terms that they understand, and a solid Christian foundation is built at this very early age.

Sparks

Children in kindergarten through second grade continue to build upon the material taught in the Cubbies club. Greater emphasis is placed on scripture memory, many of which cover salvation and key Christian principles. These kids have opportunities to learn at least 68 scripture verses in a fun and exciting atmosphere with Sparky, the friendly firefly. When they do, treasures abound! The gospel is presented clearly and consistently so that boys and girls frequently come to trust Christ as their personal Savior - the greatest treasure of all!

Truth & Training (T&Ts)

Our church's T&T program ranges from third grade through fifth grade. These kids review the gospel message and become equipped to share the good news with friends and others who need to trust Christ as their Savior. Within the three years, T&Ts can memorize and apply 297 scripture verses through Ultimate Adventures with characters such as Leah, Arthur, Erik, and Christy. Every great adventure is based on real locations, real facts, and realistic experiences because the ultimate adventure of knowing the Lord Jesus is the greatest!

In addition to our regular programs, we have a fun activity planned for the children once each month.  During the summer we have a week-long Vacation Bible School during the summer.
